Eugene and his long time friend Blackie began this Detomaso's restoration in 2002 and was completed in September of 2009. Purchased used in 1975 from a local Nevada resident, the car was low in mileage and in excellent shape. The fuel embargo 1974 and a number of mechanical upgrades required for the low production vehicle allowed Eugene to convince the owner to part ways with the Pantera. During its restoration Eugene began making modifications to the cooling, suspension, and electrical systems.
After completion, the Pantera was shown with considerable attention at the Henderson, Nevada Super Run. The Detomaso has yet to be shown in competition due to its recent restoration completion.
